hello sir/madam

     i have being refused a one week visit visa to my brother for the reasons that 

 1. i mistakenly chose no to the question whether i have being refused uk visa in the last 10 years...

 2. i did not provide fundings to the money in my bank account

 3. my russian visa expires in march 29 

which in all these i have a clear and tangible reasons to support my mistakes what should i do to rectify this since i really want to visit my brother who is uk citizen.

A: UK sees concealment as a serious issue and usually bans people from entering the UK for 10 years with this kind of problems. Please ensure you do not coneal any information and be 100% true when applying for any type of UK visa.

Dear Avineet,

I am a resident of Dubai for the last 17 years. I m employed in my present company for the last 4 years. I m visiting London with my wife and son for 2 days (as a part of 16 days Europe tour). I hv applied for visa thru my travel agent. The trip is fully paid for upfront. In my 6 months bank statement the balance is not very healthy but the closing balance is USD 8500. I have letter from my employer stating my salary, period of leave and date of joining after the trip. I have my salary going into my bank every month. Do you think my visa can be refused because i did not have enough balance thru the 6 months period.

Dear Sir,

This is in reference to cancellation of my Tourist Visa to United Kingdom.

Let me explain the whole Incident…. I got married on this 28th November 2011 and my husband is working in UK since 9 years on Tier 1 Visa. I had applied for Tourist Visa for UK because he has to renew his Visa in March 2012 so we thought to apply for dependent visa after his renewal of Visa in March 2012.

I had applied for Tourist Visa and had given my husband’s reference as my friend and got my Tourist Visa approved in December. I travelled alone to London on 30^th Dec 2011 and when I reached there, I was questioned by Immigration officers and I got nervous because it was my first International Visit and they had asked me so many questions, by nervousness I told them that I am married and my husband is working in India and I came here to meet my friend and unfortunately I was not having my return ticket and I was carrying some of my original certificates with me. They had suspected that I came for employment purpose and they had sent me back to India on the same day.

This was very painful and shocking experience of my life. They even did not allow to meet me to my husband. Me and my husband are really shocked by this Incident. Now we are planning to apply for dependent visa but we are really scared that the above explained some facts ( that my husband as my friend ) will affect our dependent visa as well.

Could you please help me how should I proceed further.

On April 17, 2012 I went to the UK to see an old girlfriend. I had planned a 2 week trip to the UK and then I was going to go to Spain to meet up with some friends. This didn’t happen. The immigration officer asked me if I had tried to come to the UK before and been denied. 

I told him I had. The 1^st trip I made was a trip I made on a whim. I didn’t have a return ticket and I didn’t have much money and I was living in Mexico at the time. I was very foolish not to plan the trip and just go. This time I had a ticket to Spain for the 30^th of April. I brought enough cash along with my and bank cards. I thought I would have no trouble at all and be allowed to pass. 

I had a lot of trouble and was treated like a criminal. The officers themselves were polite and I was polite to them they had me “removed” the 1^st time in 2006. They told me I didn’t have a return ticket or enough money to buy one so they sent me back to Amsterdam which is where I had my connecting flight to the UK.   

This time they told me I had too much money, no return ticket to America and it was suspicious that I came from Mexico again. I don’t understand how they can tell me on my first trip that I didn’t have enough money and then tell me on the second trip I had too much. I was also told that I fit the profile of someone who wouldn’t leave and that because I work for my parents, a friend and myself I had no real reason to return to America. 

I was also told I am smart and an entrepreneur and could easily make a life for myself in the UK. I could just phone my parents and tell them I wasn’t coming home and I would still have a job. The agent even said that he knew this was unfair and harsh but that was life. I had to understand that it was very economically hard in the UK.

 I was kept waiting for hours! I had my picture and finger prints taken again like I was being arrested. I was searched and swabbed over and over and over and over again. After waiting several hours more I was told I was not going to be allowed entry again and I was going to be “removed” again it was pointless to try and speak with the CIO and he would not change his mind and if I did try to speak with him he would be more annoyed. 

The officer told me that the CIO based his decision mostly on that I was refused entry before and his solution for me was to just return to America and apply for a visa. he told me that they should have told me this when I was refused entry the first time. I was never told such a thing and had I known I would have done this. Now I have lost my time and been through a traumatic ordeal and lost over $1,000 USD in plane tickets.

He also told me that since I was refused entry they would be sending me to America (so much for economic hard times) not Germany. They asked me what state I was from and I told them North Carolina. They came back and said they could send me to Washington or Charlotte. I told them that both were kind of far from my home town of Kill Devil Hills. I asked to be sent to Norfolk VA. They told me to wait some more. 

At some point they told me my ticket had been purchased. They loaded me in to a van and we drove somewhere else waited a long time picked up another guy and drove on. I have no idea where we went and how long it took us to get there because I wasn’t allowed to keep my phone which had the time. They took us to a large detention center behind a wall of razor wire. We got there around 11.30 pm. It was like a maximum security facility and I thought I was going to jail. 

The van drove in through garage door and the door shut and then they took us upstairs. The processed again taking a picture and finger print. I asked for food and water and got it. The officers told me I couldn’t have a phone or a place to sleep because I would be leaving in 5 or 10 min. these new officers told me that they didn’t understand why I was not granted entry and they thought it was strange to have brought me all the way to the detention center if I was going to be leaving on a plane back to the usa so soon. They told me several times “we don’t know why they brought you here.”  They advised me to make an official complaint.

 I was there for hours not minutes because it took so long to process the other guys. I was searched several times again of course. Finally we leave and go back to another building where one of the first guards saw “you are still here?” “I don’t know why they took you to the detention center, you are leaving in a few hours.” Here I asked to be put in another room where I might get a little sleep since I had been awake since Monday morning 6am and at this point it was Wednesday 4 or 5 am. They put me in the “family” room and I slept on the floor as best I could.

At some point I get woken up and told I was leaving. I was searched a few more times and escorted to the plane. I was told I would have my passport given back when we landed. About 30 min before we landed a flight attendant came and asked me if I knew that I had to pay for the flight. I said to him that immigration bought the ticket. He said they had not and it was down to me to pay. He said the cost was $1,500 USD and asked if I had a credit card. I insisted that immigration had said they purchased the ticket and he insisted that they had not and that we would resolve this issue once we landed. When we landed no one said anything else about it.

I cannot believe I was treated this way. This is a terrible way to treat someone who has not broken any laws. I was only asking for a two week stay and they acted like I was some gypsy who would be a drain on society asking for a hand out and stealing someone’s job. I only wanted to go visit an old girlfriend and start our relationship again. This trip was planned and had I known I would need a visa I would have applied to get one.  I must return to the USA before June because my parent’s business is very busy this time of the year and they really need my help because they are getting old and can’t do the work so easy any more.

UK Border Agency Rejects visitor visa multiple times: This is an instance where the UKBA had rejected visa of a former UK student who had applied for a visitor visa and was denied visa multiple times within a span of 1 month.
